Corporate social responsibility becomes truly meaningful and effective when it is built on shared values. The collaboration between Solinfo Group and Bátor Tábor reflects exactly that: a heartfelt partnership for a cause that makes a lasting impact on the lives of children living with serious illnesses and their families. In this interview, we explore the mission and impact of Bátor Tábor, as well as the shared vision behind this collaboration—a partnership that not only offers support but also serves as an inspiring example.

How did the therapeutic recreation method you use come to life?
Bátor Tábor’s mission is to give back the joy of childhood to children living with serious or chronic illnesses. Through play-based programs, we help them step out of their comfort zones, overcome fears, and grow stronger—not only in the face of camp challenges but also in how they deal with their illness.
We follow the therapeutic recreation model developed by the SeriousFun Children’s Network, founded by Paul Newman. Research shows the long-term impact of this method: for more than 80% of children, the experience at camp continues to positively influence their lives well into adulthood.
Participation is always free of charge, and our aim is to break the cycle of hospital routines by offering life-changing adventures and empowering experiences. With 24 years of experience, we can confidently say: we create transformative moments—and change lives in the process.

Is there a story or piece of feedback that illustrates the impact of time spent with you?
Our very first campers are now adults—many of whom are still actively involved with us today. Several of our current volunteers once came to camp as children living with illness. The experience they had was so powerful that they returned years later to give something back. Their personal stories are especially meaningful for the children who are now going through the same journey.

Can you share some figures that reflect the scale of your impact on children and families?
For 24 years, we’ve been supporting children living with serious illnesses and their families in Hungary—and for the past 15 years, we’ve extended our mission to Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland. Beyond our residential camps, we also run programs in hospitals, schools, and online, enabling us to support children at various stages of their medical journey.
Over the past decades, we’ve reached more than 30,000 participants, which amounts to nearly 1 million hours of therapeutic programming. Today, we offer healing experiences to over 5,000 children and family members each year—with the help of thousands of dedicated volunteers who make this work possible.

Why are corporate partnerships important to your mission, and how can companies contribute meaningfully?
All our programs are offered free of charge, and the Foundation operates through the generous support of individuals and companies. We’re proud that more than a hundred corporate partners have joined us over the years—not only through financial contributions, but also by offering their expertise, volunteering, engaging in awareness campaigns, and connecting us to their networks.
We believe in building genuine value-based communities with our partners.
Many companies bring their employees to our camp in Hatvan, combining traditional team-building with the unique experience of contributing to a meaningful cause. We also offer corporate training modules focused on employee mental health and well-being—allowing businesses to not only support children in need but also invest in the strength and resilience of their own teams.

Tell us about the charity rally taking place in June. What is it about, how does it support Bátor Tábor’s mission, and how will the funds be used?
The June Bátor Rally is a new initiative that we hope will become a long-term tradition—joining our annual contemporary art auction and golf event. Participating teams support the implementation of Bátor Tábor’s autumn camp sessions, while also getting a firsthand experience of the transformative power of therapeutic recreation.
Throughout the day, teams—driving exceptional vehicles provided by AutoWallis—will complete playful challenges as they make their way to our camp in Hatvan. It’s not about competition, but collaboration: working together so that more children can access life-changing camp experiences.
We expect around 150 participants, including business partners, artists, athletes, and media personalities.

What does the Solinfo Group’s design contribution and personal involvement mean to you?
We’re truly grateful for the Solinfo Group’s immediate and wholehearted support. A high-quality, thoughtfully executed event like this requires partners who care about the details—Solinfo Group has taken a leading role in making that vision a reality. The interior setting they’ve designed at our Hatvan camp will provide a welcoming and inspiring space for the event’s closing moments, where teams can unwind and reflect.
Their generous contributions to the charity auction will also directly benefit our therapeutic programs, with 100% of the proceeds going to support our mission.
What matters most, however, is the shared values and authentic partnership we’ve found in the Solinfo Group. Their team and leadership stand beside Bátor Tábor with both expertise and heart—demonstrating a deep, genuine commitment to creating impact.

How do you see the future of Bátor Tábor? Do you have any new goals or dreams for the near future?
The current economic climate poses challenges for us as well, but we remain committed to reaching as many children as possible. Our aim is to expand the number of our traditional camp sessions each year, and to bring our school- and hospital-based programs to more regions.
We are constantly exploring new ways to deliver therapeutic recreation. One example is our newly developed mobile application, which brings the power of our programs to children who are hospitalized or recovering at home.
Equally important is the growth of our volunteer and supporter community. We believe that as this network expands, the values of empathy and support will continue to strengthen across society.

What message would you share with those just getting to know Bátor Tábor and looking to help?
Every form of support is deeply appreciated. We believe that everyone can find a way to contribute that fits their personal circumstances—whether through donations, volunteering, corporate partnerships, or peer-to-peer fundraising.
The simplest way to support us is to designate 1% of your income tax to Bátor Tábor.
Regular donors join our “Bátorítók” community, while members of our “Élménykülönítmény” (Adventure Team) raise funds through athletic or personal challenges.
Twice a year, we also recruit volunteers—we warmly welcome anyone who feels inspired to support our work for seriously ill children.

Is there a quote or experience that captures the essence of Bátor Tábor for you?
We receive hundreds of powerful messages every year from program participants. When children and families describe Bátor Tábor as a magical world or a supportive extended family that changed their lives, we know we’re on the right path.
