Milan Design Week is one of the most inspiring events not only for product design, but also for lighting innovation. This year, numerous international brands unveiled their latest collections, which not only feature cutting-edge technologies but also reimagine the aesthetic role of light in interior spaces. We’ve selected our favorite novelties—from sophisticated, playful, or sculptural designs to modular systems.
Artemide – Arctic and Dusk
At the Artemide booth, two new collections—Arctic and Dusk—were unveiled, designed by the renowned BIG architectural studio. The Arctic lamps evoke the crystalline purity of polar landscapes, featuring a cool, futuristic aesthetic. In contrast, Dusk brings the warm tones of the final glow of sunset into our homes. Both families are inspired by nature while emphasizing functionality and energy efficiency.
Bomma – Fragment Line
At this year’s Euroluce during Salone del Mobile 2025, BOMMA captivated visitors with its striking Fragments Reborn installation, debuting a new lighting collection Fragment Line crafted from upcycled glass shards. The brand also introduced a new technical piece, Beam, alongside fresh color updates to its iconic Lens, Soap, and Soap Mini collections. Presented within exquisitely styled interiors by Studio Salaris, the exhibit at Fiera Milano showcased BOMMA’s sculptural, handcrafted lighting and reaffirmed its leading role in contemporary crystal design.
Flexalighting – Birdie, Esme, Aimee
Flexalighting presented three innovations. The Birdie Trimless is a sleek recessed floor light that blends into the space almost invisibly, yet decisively draws attention. The Esme lamp features a clean design and flush optics, available as a standalone unit or as part of a track system. Its opal version provides an even softer lighting effect. The Aimee 6 Trimless offers adjustable optics ranging from 15° to 55°, allowing perfect adaptation to the space—whether focused or broad illumination is needed.
Flos – Linked
Linked, designed by Michael Anastassiades for Flos, resembles an illuminated necklace gracefully descending from the ceiling. The interlocking glass elements are easily customizable, making the shape adaptable to any interior. This collection embodies sculptural elegance while emitting a warm glow. The installation can be finished with a luminous orb, adding further character to the composition.
Flos – Luce Sferica and Luce Cilindrica
Luce Sferica and Luce Cilindrica, two new models by Flos designed by Ronan Bouroullec, feature hand-blown glass globes and cylinders that seem to float on aluminum structures, providing soft, diffused lighting. These designs merge industrial innovation with everyday usability, creating a unique ambiance ideal for homes, hospitality, or cultural spaces. The modular design enables striking compositions that elevate the overall character of the interior.
Gubi – Multi-Lite Portable
The Multi-Lite Portable by Gubi reinterprets an iconic design in a compact, portable format. Drawing on the geometric style of the 1970s, this mobile version gives new meaning to a classic piece. Its compact size and rechargeable battery make it ideal for any setting—from evening garden parties to cozy bookshelf lighting. With three brightness levels, it’s remarkably versatile.
Lasvit – Niveo
Lasvit’s new collection, Niveo, was introduced at Milan Design Week with an ethereal and delicate visual language. Alongside spherical and linear pendants, a table version is also available, forming a comprehensive family of products. The sandblasted glass diffuses soft, discreet light, creating an especially intimate atmosphere. Niveo’s understated elegance makes it a fitting choice for both modern and classic interiors.
Lodes – MAP and Tidal 2
The MAP lamp by Lodes captures attention with its striking three-dimensional effect—light passes through the surface to cast playful patterns on surrounding areas. Its form is contemporary yet airy, serving both decorative and spatial functions.
The updated Tidal 2 features an adjustable design, allowing the light direction to be freely set—upward, downward, or at an angle. This brings both visual and functional versatility while retaining the organic, wave-inspired shape.
Luce Light – Pivot B and Plin61 in wood finish
Among Luce Light’s latest releases, the Pivot B stands out for its refined form and technical precision. This recessed lighting solution provides discreet yet impactful illumination, ideal for highlighting stairs, hallways, or furniture. The Plin61 model in a wooden finish brings warmth and natural character to interiors—underscoring the growing importance of natural materials in contemporary lighting design.
Vibia – Pro by Holscher Design, Offset, Circle and Line
Vibia’s lighting philosophy is rooted in its Shaping Atmospheres manifesto and the concept of Dynamic Light, which stands out for its ability to adapt illumination to an individual’s environment, emotions, and circadian rhythms. This advanced system allows for the modulation of brightness, color temperature, and light nuances, turning lighting into a living, interactive element that enhances the well-being of space occupants. Through dynamic light control, Vibia enables the creation of relaxing or energizing atmospheres, attuned to biological rhythms.
The brand’s latest collections, including Offset, Circle, and Line, embody this approach to flexible, sensory lighting. Using advanced LED dimming systems, color tuning, and high-efficiency diffusers, they deliver refined light experiences. Vibia Chromatica further enhances this concept by offering 18 different colorways for a continuously evolving visual atmosphere.
At the same time, the Pro collection, created in collaboration with Holscher Design, remains a key offering. With its modular structure and geometric clarity, it transforms light into an architectural element while maintaining a high level of aesthetic and functional refinement.
Milan Design Week 2025 once again demonstrated that light is far more than a functional element—it shapes the atmosphere, rhythm, and emotional depth of interiors. The lighting designs showcased here not only reflect the current state of contemporary design but also point toward the future of lighting innovation. They offer inspiration for any project where light is meant to create true value.
