Milan Design Week sets a new benchmark in the world of design every year, where international brands not only innovate in terms of aesthetics but also functionality and technology. Our team was once again present to experience firsthand the trends shaping the future of design. Get to know our favorites and be inspired!
Roche Bobois – A Celebration of Colors and Stories with Pedro Almodóvar
This year, Roche Bobois surprised design enthusiasts with a special collaboration: the “Cromática” collection, created in partnership with the legendary Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar. The limited-edition Mah Jong sofa reinterpretation, adorned with iconic images and colors from Almodóvar’s films, pays tribute to the richness of his visual world. The collection also includes an exclusive capsule collection designed by Rossy de Palma, Almodóvar’s muse and artistic collaborator, infusing her unique style and energy into the furniture pieces.
Molteni&C – A Contemporary Reinterpretation of Milan’s Heritage
Molteni&C’s 2025 collection is a thoughtfully crafted tribute to Milan’s architectural and design heritage. Under the creative direction of Vincent Van Duysen, the brand’s archive has been given a contemporary interpretation, where history meets modern elegance. Iconic Molteni&C exhibitions and interior design projects from the 70s and 80s served as inspiration, reimagined for today’s open-plan spaces.
The collection’s mood is inspired by an elegant Milanese apartment interior, where the city’s classical elegance and contemporary functionality coexist in natural harmony. The furniture forms dynamic, almost abstract compositions that are light and visually striking—redefined homes born from a re-reading of the past, as Van Duysen defines them.
The spirit of the collection comes to life in the newly opened Palazzo Molteni on Via Manzoni. This new design hub is not only a milestone in the brand’s history but also an international meeting point where the historical atmosphere and global design perspectives merge. The space—just like the collection itself—faithfully reflects Molteni&C’s mission: to experience tradition and innovation as one.
Vitra – Mynt Chair: redefining the experience of dynamic sitting
One of the highlights of Vitra’s 2025 collection is the Mynt chair by Erwan Bouroullec. Combining the welcoming aesthetic of a studio-style chair with an entirely new approach to dynamic sitting, Mynt introduces a patented mechanism that responds to body weight and shifts in position, allowing the seat and backrest to move independently.
The movement automatically adjusts to the user’s weight, offering an intuitive ergonomic experience where only the height requires manual adjustment.
Elegant, responsive, and comfortable – the Mynt chair redefines what dynamic sitting can mean in both home and professional settings.
USM – Playful Modularity with the Soft Panel
USM presented its latest innovation, the USM Haller Soft Panel, which adds a new dimension to the world of modular furniture. The magnetic, fabric-covered panels are easy to swap out and fold, allowing the appearance and functionality of the furniture to change in an instant. The panels are made from 40% recycled ocean plastic, contributing to sustainability. Additionally, they improve the acoustics of a room and create a warm, cozy atmosphere amid metal surfaces.
Flexform – Refined Comfort Indoors and Outdoors
This year, Flexform showcased its new collection in two iconic locations. The historic Chiostro Sant’Angelo served as the setting for the Camelot sofa and outdoor pieces, including the Oasis seating collection. These pieces, with their refined shapes and durable materials, represent nature-inspired luxury. Meanwhile, at the brand’s flagship store in Milan, the Loungescape system took center stage. With its modular design, this system allows for flexible arrangements of interior spaces. Flexform’s design philosophy is based on restraint, timelessness, and the use of natural materials—every element of the collection embodies this perspective.
Tom Dixon – Groove: The First Outdoor Collection
Tom Dixon’s first outdoor furniture collection, Groove, stands out with its special, art deco-inspired ribbed surface. Made from premium-quality aluminum, the pieces are treated with a modern powder-coating process that is VOC- and solvent-free, making them ideal for outdoor use. The collection combines contemporary design language with durability and sustainability demands—a new era for the brand.
Muuto – A Balance of Functionality and Character
The previously known Midst table has now debuted with a marble tabletop, marking an important new direction in the brand’s material use. Muuto has rarely worked with natural stones, and the introduction of marble points to a convergence of neuroaesthetics and the use of natural materials. The result is an especially elegant and timeless piece that retains Muuto’s characteristic understated character while gaining a new, emotionally richer layer.
Meridiani – Sophistication and Groundbreaking Details
In the Meridiani collection, the Jeanette sofa combines contemporary comfort with classic style: its structured lines and deep, soft seating offer a refined spatial experience. The Frank tables bring a new kind of elegance to spaces with their bold geometric appearance—every piece is crafted with the brand’s signature quality and attention to detail.
Tacchini – The Architecture of Harmony
Tacchini’s showroom at Salone del Mobile felt like an oasis of calm in the midst of the fair’s hustle and bustle. The spatial design aimed to create a floating, contemplative environment—a space that shows the new, human-centered direction of contemporary interior design.
Milan Design Week 2025 once again captivated us with a wealth of visual experiences and exciting material explorations – the pieces on display stood out through their timeless quality, formal innovation, and refined aesthetic.
