DLA Piper is one of the world’s largest international law firms, employing 4,200 lawyers in more than 40 countries, providing financial and business advice. From the client side, the key request was to create an attractive working environment for the younger generation, used to the home office during the covid, and to attract employees back to the office. DLA Piper wanted to provide a modern space with a unique atmosphere for collaboration and more informal working, which would also allow the introduction of shared-policy. Accordingly, they created multi-functional spaces, providing a venue for small and large group meetings, while also working to create an environment for relaxation. In addition to the many green plants, more neutral colours and wood surfaces were used to maintain a natural, homely feel. A timeless, multi-generational design was needed that would be a breakthrough for DLA Piper’s office life.
Our lighting designers worked closely with MádiLáncos Studio during the concept development and design phase to ensure that the fixtures reinforced the mature concept. A challenge in the design was that the ceiling was practically untouchable for technical reasons. For this reason, Olé luminaires were chosen, stretched out like wire mesh to illuminate the space as an irregular grid. The use of these luminaires has completely removed the space from the rigid system of the building. The challenge for our experts was to reconcile the interior design concept with the lighting design and technical content. Accordingly, spotlights were placed in the work areas and more spectacular design luminaires, such as the Vibia Dots model, in the public spaces.
We are proud to have contributed to DLA Piper’s new attractive working environment by designing lighting and providing lamps.
