In our latest reference project, we are proud to present a panoramic holiday home at Lake Balaton. The interiors are defined by darker tones, with elegant and masculine shapes taking center stage. The client preferred less natural light, so certain rooms feature only artificial lighting, creating an opportunity to play with light and shadow. The request to exclude rugs required a unique approach, which was balanced by soft materials like curtains and wallpapers, alongside warmer elements such as wooden flooring and furniture. The space features custom-made, three-layer oak parquet by Timbart, whose dark shades add an elegant, masculine touch, while the natural wood surface brings warmth and coziness. This material selection creates a balance, where modern and classic elements complement each other harmoniously.
The designers drew inspiration from the surrounding environment. Being in the Balaton region, the focus shifted to more natural materials, such as dark grey stone and burnt wood. The building is divided into two main sections: one housing the master bedroom and kitchen, and the other containing guest rooms. The living room and terrace connect these areas, with a strong emphasis on harmonizing the interior spaces with the panoramic views. The lighter tones in the guest rooms help soften the dominance of darker shades.
We are proud to have contributed furniture, lighting fixtures, parquet, and accessories to this stunning holiday home.
