Even though Hungarian architects had a prominent role in the Bauhaus movement in Hungary, there are only a handful of true Bauhaus buildings in Budapest. Lajos Kozma is one of the architects whose work is an interesting case of Bauhaus architecture. His following work, situated in the Buda side of the capital, is as relevant today as it was in his time. The concept of the interior design put an emphasis on pairing Kozma’s furniture design with contemporary pieces, a harmonious combination of items that will be in perfect accordance with the architect’s modern approach. This connection with these two distinct worlds is further strengthened by antique decorative items and artwork. Kozma was able to create an ingenious, bourgeois living space in the Bauhaus era. Its modern, clean spatial structures are reminiscent of Bauhaus, evident in the interior design of the living room as well. The ceiling lights are also noteworthy, whose form was re-designed following a design concept by the owner of the apartment. Its floating structure and diffused light is a perfect match for the bay-like, grandiose interior. It’s a perfect hybrid of family heirloom and the legacy of Lajos Kozma. We’re proud to have taken part in the astonishing end result with Solinfo’s meticulously selected custom made, unique and technical lights.
