The latest gem in the ongoing transformation of Paulay Ede Street is Maison 45, offering a harmonious blend of downtown Art Nouveau architecture and modern design. Built in 1906 as a printing house based on the designs of István Nagy, the building preserves its protected Art Nouveau details while its interiors have been completely renovated, creating one of the area’s most exclusive hotels.
The family-owned property’s developers commissioned Roomba Design Studio to design the interiors. “Our task was to bring the Pesti Art Nouveau foundations to life — originally enriched with French-inspired elements such as solid wood parquet and stucco patterns — through contemporary Italian design pieces. To add a touch of bold character to this timeless elegance, we selected Baxter furniture and vintage pieces for the rooms, suites, lobby, and bar.”
Each of the six rooms and eleven suites features a unique layout and design, allowing guests to enjoy a homely, intimate, and refined environment, whether for short or extended stays. The interior design combines almost masculine, purist foundations — black and dark brown wood and stone surfaces, black-and-white flooring — with delicate, feminine details, contemporary photography, and vintage objects. A particular highlight is the inner garden beneath the authentic Pesti “gangs,” offering a peaceful oasis for guests during breakfast hours.
We are proud to have contributed to the hotel’s elegant city-center atmosphere through carefully selected lighting and accessories curated by our Home Stylists.
