On the golden coast of Siofok, the Mala Garden is a real gem. The hotel affects all our senses and suggests that the clever adaptation of Bali’s design and experience to the Balaton shore means tranquillity, quality, and comfort. In 2014, the owner’s travel experiences gave life to the idea of Mala Garden in Siofok. The result of the joint work of lead designer Mihály Csikós and architect Gergely Gaál, the building complex focuses on the interoperability between nature and living space: the elegant, large spaces open up to Lake Balaton with glass surfaces and terraces, while the interior rooms and communal spaces invite guests to relax and stay.
The hotel consists of two units. In addition to the reception, café, and conference room, the main building houses pampering massage rooms and a wellness area. In addition, the White Tea Suite is housed in a separate building, with its uniquely spacious, essentially one-room layout and spacious terrace. Again, Eszter Gaál was responsible for the furnishings, fabrics, and upholstery, selecting the hotel’s defining elements from her interior design store to create an oriental vitality that attracts the eye, yet creates a relaxing harmony. To achieve this, the hotel’s designers have turned to the means to create a natural harmony: the sight and sound of water, the simplicity of large surfaces, the use of natural materials in the finishes that are both striking and tactile, combined with an exotic palette of colours found in nature.
Built in two phases (2014 and 2019), the lighting throughout the hotel complex (both indoors and outdoors) has been masterfully designed by Solinfo Lighting Embassy lighting designers: concealed light sources supplied by us and warm light, small and large design lamps placed throughout the space ensure that the light is soothing rather than distracting.
