The new ground floor + 6 floors headquarters of Richter Gedeon Nyrt. serves as both the company’s operational center and an architectural milestone. Designed by ZDA – Zoboki Architects, the building reflects more than two decades of collaboration between the firm and the pharmaceutical company.
Situated alongside the research center, the headquarters harmonizes the stability of the research facility with the dynamic essence of a modern administrative hub. Parametric design and innovative façade lamellas visually soften the building’s scale, while the interiors are characterized by natural light, functionality, and a sense of community.
LAB5 Architects conceived the interior design, placing a strong emphasis on communal spaces. Standout elements include a decorative staircase, an inviting piazza, and ergonomic office layouts, all contributing to a contemporary and collaborative work environment.
Sustainability and natural aesthetics are embodied in Timbart’s custom wood cladding. The conference room and offices feature bespoke, two-layer oak batten flooring with a slightly knotty texture. Crafted in three panel widths (190, 290, and 390 mm) and finished in a designer-specified, lightly bleached tone, the flooring enhances the building’s refined yet natural ambiance.
Lighting design, led by László Csernus of Lighting Embassy, the lighting division of Solinfo Group, plays a key role in shaping the building’s atmosphere. The lighting solutions were tailored to each space’s function and aesthetic.
Custom-made luminaires under the staircase provide optimal light for plants while enhancing the area’s visual appeal. In the executive office, a modern and adaptable track lighting system complements the workspace’s functionality. Meanwhile, in the atrium and communal areas, thoughtfully placed luminaires create a welcoming, inspiring environment and emphasize the architectural features.
Every detail of the new Richter headquarters, from the interiors to the lighting, embodies functionality, innovation, and harmony, setting a new standard for sustainable and design-forward corporate spaces.
