The amazing features of this beautiful apartment with a view, in the 12th district of Budapest, made the connection with the groundfloor garden possible. The designer, Dóra Fónagy explained that the main goal of her work was to keep the peaceful and natural atmosphere of the original space. And from an architectrual point of view, the main aspect of refurbishment works was to open up social areas, such as the living room and the kitchen, towards the terrace. Subtlety, the love of nature and green environments were all crucial throughout the design and construction process. Elegant colors and homely materials evoke a sense of calmness with the help of the wooden floor spreading out in the whole of the apartment. Dóra utilized lights to create a connection between the kitchen, diner and living room in an otherwise spacious interior. Solinfo provided lights to this process. Dóra worked with natural colors. The dominant color of the apartment is blue. There are three colors in nature: a neutral, earthly shade, which is the color of trees is present in the wood floor. Green is radiated from the garden, while blue can be found in certain elements of the interior. The neutral colors of the living room blend in the environment. A number of elements are emphasized, such as the bookshelves or the dining table, creating stability in the interior. The kitchen island shows off the same color as the walls, so that objects in the center of the interior aren’t blocking the view and the way, letting the lighting system of Solinfo do its work. Because of the low ceiling height, pendants were usually excluded from the picture.
The bedroom features an elegant, huge terrace with a view, by which the whole room is greatly affected and shaped. Here, pendant lights are used as reading lights, acting as jewels of the room design. The children’s room features four beautiful pendants, blending in perfectly with the theme of the interior. 80% of the furniture comes from Vitrin/Solinfo, which resulted in a lot of flexibility when it came to furnishing the interior. All of these furniture pieces are important, startegic elements of the overall design concept, which is an exceptional opporunity for a designer.
We at Solinfo worked on the project in co-operation with VITRIN. Along with lights, we provided a number of elements in the apartment, including furniture and carpest.
