The holiday home in Zánka is at once a premium-quality professional achievement and a deeply-human living space. Initially, the only value of the old holiday homes on the plots was the stone, considered to be a material specific to the Balaton region. This stone was used by the designers to serve as covering for the building’s facade. The body of the building – comprising a double gable roof, an archetypal shape and a green-roof link corridor – reflects the design within: one house is home to a double-headroom, spacious kitchen/dining area with an exposed collar-beam, the other – on two floors – has the bathroom and bedroom areas, while the connecting flat-roof section is where the entrance and living room are located.
Uniform material usage and consistent detailing can be observed throughout the house, which offers a multitude of exciting spatial effects. Light is a fundamental element of building design, received from various sources due to sophisticated window layout. All three building sections are closed towards the outside, but open to the garden using large glass surfaces.
Light and lighting have been assigned priority significance in the house. We are very proud of having contributed to creating various different moods in this fantastic home with our technical and design lamps, and also having contributed expert know-how in selecting products and accessories.
A house is truly remarkable if those stepping inside simply feel: it’s good to be here.
