The reconstruction of the corner house at 72 Úri Street is completed. One of the most iconic properties in the Castle District was purchased a few years ago by the Hungarian National Bank Foundation. The building will be home to a new centre for inviting and hosting world-class professors in Budapest. After several years of preparation and two years of reconstruction, the building will be able to take on its new educational and scientific function, housing the Pallas Athéné Domus Meriti Foundation’s (PADME) wide-ranging activities and a new scientific centre focusing on sustainability.
The building, which has a rich history, once belonged to the military treasury, is believed to have been a parish, a civil servants’ quarters, a hideout during the Second World War and a shelter for the Hungarian National Bank.
The entire lighting for the new building was designed by the Solinfo Group / Lighting Embassy team. The atmosphere of the interior spaces is largely determined by the characterful luminaires. We are proud of the project, for which we designed custom lighting as well as luminaires, in harmony with the harmonious placement of technical and design lamps.
