Világbéke

Project description

Location: Miskolc
Designer: Alíz Matisz
Photos: György Darabos
Year: 2018

After the opening of Anyukám mondta in the city of Encsi, this family business moved to a new base in Miskolc. There, they founded their brand new restaurant Pizza, Kávé, Világbéke. The name itself originates from Géza Ipacs graphic designer, while the interior design is the work of Alíz Matisz. The building, part of the Secession art movement, was built in 1911, based on plans by Alfréd Hajós. The building features elements of Socialist architecture, not unlike the rest of Miskolc. This touch of the past isn’t overly present, it’s not nostalgic in a way a ruin pub is, but certain details are reminiscent of the architecture of the Socialist era, such as the chessboard floor and the cinema-like wooden chairs. This visual effect is further elevated thanks to the lamps and lighting solutions of Solinfo. The place is open all day and welcomes guests for a nice breakfast, a business lunch or a classic dinner.
