Step into the world of design at Milan Design Week, where breathtaking lamps and furniture took center stage. This prestigious event showcased an extraordinary collection of works that push the boundaries of modern design. From minimalist elegance to bold avant-garde pieces, visionary designers showcased pieces that effortlessly blend art and functionality. Our team of professionals was present at the fair, eagerly anticipating the opportunity to implement the new findings in their work. Join us to learn the stories behind the innovative designs.
Roche Bobois – Bamboo Mood Collection
By naming this collection “Bamboo Mood”, the designer wanted to introduce a metaphor around bamboo, a powerful symbol in Chinese culture. The plant represents the key values of integrity, resilience, simplicity and harmony.
Jiang Qiong Er reinterprets these values with a poetic spin – an approach that breaks with convention while also exuding elegance. The collection comprises a sofa, a screen, a console, and cocktail tables, together with rugs and ceramics.
Molteni – Contemporary Grandeur collection
The 2024 Indoor Collection draws inspiration from the architectural brilliance of Milanese luminary like Piero Portaluppi. Designed and curated by creative director Vincent Van Duysen, the collection epitomizes sophistication and functional innovation, marking a new chapter in the brand’s storied history as it commemorates its 90th anniversary.
“We’ve opted for refined materials that harken back to the 1930s. This collection is slightly more decorative than previous years, adding an extra layer of sophistication to the Molteni&C universe” – says Van Duysen.
Miniforms – Soda collection
Give or take a stem or two: this time Soda has only two stems, and its top takes on an elongated shape. Smooth as a surfboard, it evokes the fluidity of 1950s French design, but with our bold voice. On its own it is enchanting, but in compositions it reveals its playful side, breaking up the inertia of more basic forms. The principle remains the same at Soda SQ: a single volume, upside down, in beautifully blown glass. But this time there are four stems, and four curved corners to delineate the new top. It is still Soda, but it wants to get up close and personal: you can extend it by matching pieces together, or create sophisticated compositions by mixing the different shapes.
Lodes – Obló
Elegant and sophisticated, Obló embodies the designer’s aesthetic sensibility to offer lighting solutions that create unique movements. The knot and cable possess both aesthetic and functional significance: envisioned by the designer to resemble naval ropes knotted to sea buoys, infusing the product with a whimsical and playful spirit. Soft, rounded shapes suspended by a knotted cable, appear to float in the air like a buoy.
Pedrali – Stiel
Elegance and sophistication, comfort and meticulous attention to detail inspired Stiel designed by Sebastian Herkner, a lounge armchair featured by soft and rounded shapes in polyurethane foam on a curved round steel tube frame. Seat and backrest are connected to the frame without visible fixing screws. Stiel collection focuses on the comfort and well-being to enjoy both in relax or relation spaces. The various fabric and metal finishes make Stiel suitable for residential or contract.
Midj – Bolle Collection
The Bolle collection was created for the outdoors and includes sofas, armchairs, lounge, coffee tables and lamps in macro-perforated colored metal, with a soft and playfully captivating aesthetic. The name Bolle derives from the special processing of the metal shells, which produces a texture with a strong graphic impact. Indeed, Bolle means bubbles.
The simple yet sophisticated image of the entire collection reveals Paola Navone’s ability to propose an imaginary linked to her particular Mediterranean taste.
Moooi – „A Life Extraordinary” exhibition
At “A Life Extraordinary” , visitors can experience a world where lighting, scent and surface tease and awaken our imagination and senses. During Milan Design Week, Moooi exhibits an immersive and inspiring display. The lifestyle brand continues to breathe life into design and bring the unexpected.
In this year’s exhibition, tactility is set to take centre stage. Moooi’s promise of ‘A Life Extraordinary’ can be felt in every touch, weaving poetry into our lives.
Moooi persents the Green House Wallcovering Collection, Big George by Cristián Mohaded and the Tubelight by BCXSY.
Cattelan Italia – A New Contemporary
“A New Contemporary” is the new approach to modern aesthetics and the leitmotif of the new Cattelan Italia collection, which will be presented at Salone del Mobile Milano 2024. Once again this year the brand will launch several innovations in the global furniture market, dedicated to the living and the sleeping areas, with a common feature: their love for quality materials with Italian manufacturing.
Arketipo – Aperitivo
Aperitivo, it is an Italian thing. No other nation could make that after work, pre-meal drink and snack an event; and that is what it is, an event. A way to take stock of the day, to decompress, to relax and yet to converse. To share ideas, to enjoy the company of others or those of your thoughts. It is inherently Italian because it is what we do well, making moments, igniting conversations, discussing what’s on the menu afterwards – socially and culinarily.
So how do we translate this into design? How do we symbolise through design our culture? Materials and forms which personify elegance. Mauro Lipparini goes even further. Marble tops, built-in ice buckets, swooping lines and form, function and practicality meeting high-end design. This is conversation, ideas and elegance, a culture and design in unison.
Tribu – Suro collection
Living the good life outside
The new Suro collection by the French designer Christophe Delcourt is a continuation of our mission and passion to create elegant and timeless outdoor furniture. The mastery of materials and curves truly characterises Christophe Delcourt’s Suro collection, which embodies the symbiosis of a solid seating in wood or aluminium and its braided rope weaving.
Kettal – Insula sofa
The Insula modular sofa by Patricia Urquiola , inspired by Arab majlis seating, features a low, rational design with smooth shapes and a roll backrest. Designed for socializing, it offers versatile configurations for indoor and outdoor gatherings, blending seamlessly into various settings with its modular design and comfortable cushions.
Vipp – V3 kitchen
The V3 kitchen introduces the next step in our legacy of metalwork and brings a distinct character to Vipp’s familiar modular design. The freestanding modules are wrapped in naturally anodized aluminium – with vertically extruded profiles curving around the edges to bring a light elegance to the metallic appearance.
Flos – Emi Collection
Available in four versions, the Emi collection by Erwan Bouroullec is born from an ambition to bring professional quality into new spheres, harnessing Flos Light Shadow technology and exploring architectural design within the context of the domestic landscape.
Alf Da Fré – Poker System
Poker: A revolutionary system with endless possibilities, goes beyond the concept of a common wardrobe. A tailor-made solution, suitable for any space. Poker is enriched with new finishes and functionalities.
Henge – Endless vision
The new lighting and furniture collections created in collaboration with international designers was presented during Salone del Mobile. Henge’s new creations will be showcased in an atmospheric setting that seeks to enhance the natural reality of the rarest and most precious materials.
Novamobili – Details Collection, Knot desk
The Knot desk takes its inspiration from Nordic design. Its rounded line stands out for its timeless elegance. Functional accessories like the document pouch and desk pad add a functional edge without compromising aesthetics. Knot graces the space with a unique, stylish touch.
Sitland – CellSpace
As flexible and modular as the space you need. CellSpace adapts to all needs and can be customised as desired, thanks to the possibility of adding accessories such as a TV monitor support, charging systems and clothes hangers.
Whether in large waiting areas or open space offices, privacy and acoustics are two important but equally challenging elements to combine in a single solution. The high partitions of Cell128, which create CellSpace, offer the perfect spot where you can make a video call without distraction either visually or acoustically in complete comfort. In fact, the walls are sound-absorbent : they reduce external noise, thus helping conversation or a quiet moment.
