St. Regis Budapest – Contemporary Lighting for a Historic Landmark

The transformation of one of Budapest's most iconic buildings presented an exceptional architectural, technical, and heritage conservation challenge. The vision behind St. Regis Budapest was to create a world-class luxury hotel while preserving the building's historic character and seamlessly integrating it with contemporary design.

Delivering the lighting concept required a comprehensive and highly diverse approach, as every area of the hotel demanded its own lighting strategy. From guest rooms and suites to the lobby, restaurants, bars, wellness facilities, communal spaces, and the building's façade, each environment called for a unique solution tailored to its function, atmosphere, and technical requirements. The challenge was to create distinctive lighting experiences for each space while maintaining a coherent visual identity throughout the entire property.

For this landmark project, the Solinfo Group supplied the luminaires and delivered the lighting design in close accordance with the architect's and interior designer's vision. Every lighting solution was carefully developed to enhance the architectural concept, highlight the carefully selected materials, and provide the appropriate atmosphere and functionality for each individual space.

We are especially proud to have contributed to a project of this scale and significance. As one of the defining buildings in the heart of Budapest, St. Regis Budapest stands as an outstanding example of how lighting can become an integral part of architecture—enhancing heritage, supporting contemporary design, and elevating the overall guest experience.
